Description
Join us for an opening reception for Exhibitions at MICA: The First 100 Years, Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 4 to 6 p.m.! The exhibit runs through September.
Description
A new exhibition in the Decker Library is the work of Shelby Stierhoff '18, who worked with MICA exhibition archives this past Summer as an independent study for Art History.
Stierhoff has selected documents to highlight exhibitions held at the Maryland Institute, ranging from the annual industrial fairs of the 19th century to the lively 1920s, which saw an important exhibit of work by Henri Matisse -- "... for the first time in America through the courtesy of the Misses Cone," according to a document from the Baltimore Museum of Art archives -- right in the Main Building!
